Touch ‘n Go, Proton Ink MoU To Equip New X50 With TnG RFID Tags

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 (Bernama) -- Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd (TNG) and Proton Holdings Bhd have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to equip every unit of the all-new Proton X50 with a Touch ‘n Go Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) tag at the production stage.

In a joint statement today, the parties said the initiative reflects their commitment to providing smarter and more convenient driving experiences for Malaysian consumers.

TNG chief executive officer Praba Sangarajoo said the partnership will create more seamless experiences for customers, and make everyday mobility feel easier, faster, and more intuitive.

Proton Edar Sdn Bhd deputy chief executive officer Zhang Qiang said the partnership with TNG aligns with Proton X50’s tagline, ‘Intelligence That Amazes’, adding that the feature may be extended to include other  Proton models.

“We aim to improve customer satisfaction, and we think this is one of the steps we can consider towards achieving that goal,” he said.

The MoU was inked by Praba and Qiang, witnessed by TNG sales director Jarrod Wong and Proton Edar head of sales Ong Chee Wooi.

Launched on July 24, the latest Proton X50 features a redesigned exterior and interior, updated connectivity technology and a 1.5-litre i-GT turbocharged engine.

According to Proton, 2,000 units have been delivered to customers within three weeks of the launch, and over 140,000 units of the earlier X50 model have been sold since its debut.
