Government Defers Toll Hike On 10 Highways, To Shoulder RM500 Mln In Cost - PM Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, July 23 (Bernama) -- The government has agreed to defer toll rate increases on 10 highways to allow the public to continue paying existing rates, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said today.

The affected highways include the Senai-Desaru Expressway (SDE), East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2), South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE), Butterworth Outer Ring Road (LLB), and Kuala Lumpur-Putrajaya Expressway (MEX).

“The government will bear over RM500 million in costs,” said the Prime Minister in a special appreciation announcement for Malaysians today.

The toll hikes had been scheduled to take effect this year.
