ASEAN 5G Cybersecurity Summit To Draw 2,000 Participants

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (Bernama) -- The ASEAN 5G and Operational Technology (OT) Security Summit, hosted by Digital Nasional Bhd (DNB) and CyberSecurity Malaysia (CSM), will be held from July 15 to 17, 2025, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

The event is expected to draw 2,000 participants from 14 countries.

DNB chief executive officer Datuk Azman Ismail said the figure includes 500 international delegates, as well as ASEAN regulators and officials.

The summit is scheduled to be officiated by Digital Minister Gobind Singh Deo on July 15.

Azman said the inaugural summit will bring together global experts in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI), along with key figures from the information technology (IT) and OT security sectors.

“The main purpose of this event is to share the risks many people face in relation to cybersecurity, and to explore ways to mitigate them.

“I think it’s important to view these issues not as unique to Malaysia, but as challenges faced globally,” he told a press conference after the summit’s briefing session here today.

Azman added that the summit will also welcome university students and start-up companies to contribute ideas for innovation and new developments to strengthen cybersecurity controls in the region.
