Allianz General Partners Fashion Platform To Offer Customised Insurance Product

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 (Bernama) -- Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Bhd has partnered International Fashion Chamber Malaysia Bhd to offer the Allianz Business Shield Package Insurance to fashion businesses.

This initiative protects fashion businesses from day-to-day operational risks and provides event-related insurance coverage when they participate in fashion events to showcase their work.

Allianz General deputy chief sales officer Sazali Abd Rahman said the partnership empowers Malaysia’s vibrant fashion industry and enables the insurance company to play its part in nurturing the local fashion scene by safeguarding fashion businesses against risks.

“Fashion businesses will be introduced to fashion risks and operational coverage (FROC), an essential and tailored protection, enabling entrepreneurs to focus on their creativity and growth,” he said in a statement yesterday to mark the launch of the national fashion platform MyFashionChamber.

The platform unites designers, educators, artisans, and innovators under one mission – to connect creativity with commerce and elevate Malaysia’s global fashion standing.

The platform’s vision is to establish Malaysia as a key player in the global fashion industry by redefining the region’s fashion industry by addressing long-standing structural gaps within.

It builds bridges between talent, trade, education and international market access by providing advocacy, visibility, capacity building, and global networking.

Meanwhile, speaking at the launch, International Fashion Chamber Malaysia chief executive officer Jay Ishak highlighted the urgent need for risk protection in the fashion industry, particularly during international events and welcomed Allianz General’s role in addressing this critical need.

“We spoke to Allianz for one year. The company is traditionally focused on the sports industry but we convinced them to look at fashion broadly.

“We told them to think differently because fashion is where creativity meets commerce and deserves the same protection,” she said, adding that no one thinks about the risks associated with fashion shows.

International Fashion Chamber Malaysia chairperson Dr Leena Al-Mujahed said MyFashionChamber is an ecosystem that nurtures talent, innovation and prepares Malaysia’s creative voice to meet the world.

Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) deputy chief executive officer (export acceleration) Abu Bakar Yusof said MATRADE is supportive of International Fashion Chamber Malaysia and hope the national trade promotion agency will be able to assist the company.

Tengku Laksamana of Selangor Tengku Sulaiman Shah graced the event with his presence.
