Agrobank Targets 70,000 New Accounts Under Mega Million 2.0 Campaign
MELAKA, June 24 (Bernama) -- Agrobank is targeting 70,000 new accounts and RM350 million in deposits under its Mega Million 2.0 campaign, launched in November last year.
Agrobank chief operating officer Zahid Ahmad Zawawi said the bank is seeing stronger participation compared to the previous campaign, which drew 54,000 new accounts with deposits exceeding RM290 million.
“We have recorded positive growth across Agrobank’s offerings since the campaign began. Takaful subscriptions rose 116 per cent, will-writing increased 114 per cent, and Ar-Rahnu financing surged 177 per cent,” Zahid told reporters at a prize-giving ceremony for winners of the campaign’s first and second draws.
The campaign, which runs until Oct 31, is open to both new and existing customers, including individuals and non-individuals.
It covers a range of products such as Ar-Rahnu, AgroPrimaS, AgroPerdana-i PLUS, AgroCash-i, Hartani-i, Takaful Kasih Plus, Agro Madani, Agro Nurani, Agro Motor Takaful and will-writing services.
Zahid said Agrobank is also aiming for RM2 billion in AgroCash-i financing and RM200 million in Hartani-i financing during the campaign period. Other targets include RM10 million in will-writing, RM20 million in takaful subscriptions and RM250 million in Ar-Rahnu financing.
“The campaign builds on the success of Mega Million 1.0, to encourage savings and product take-up, and to promote a culture of financial planning among Malaysians,” he added.
At the event, six winners from the November 2024 to April 2025 campaign period were awarded new cars, including a Mitsubishi Xpander, Proton S70 and Perodua Myvi.
One of the winners, Tempawan Mat Isa, 67, said she was surprised her savings from vegetable farming last year won her a Mitsubishi Xpander. She made the deposits at Agrobank’s Kampung Gajah branch in Perak together with her late husband, in hopes of winning a car through the campaign.
