Khairul Azwan Ends Service As HDC Chairman

KUALA LUMPUR, May 27 (Bernama) -- Khairul Azwan Harun has ended his service as the chairman of the Halal Development Corporation (HDC) Bhd, effective May 17, according to the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI).

In a post on X today, the ministry said Khairul Azwan was appointed to the position on May 18, 2023.

“MITI expresses its gratitude to Khairul Azwan for his contributions and dedicated service during his tenure as chairman of HDC.

“The ministry hopes that he will remain committed to providing the best service to the nation across various fields in the future,” it said.

Khairul Awan holds a Master’s Degree in Management from the Open University Malaysia and has completed a global leadership course at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government in the United States.

He currently serves as the chairman of VSolar Group Bhd and has previously held chairman positions at mTouche Technology Bhd and Malaysia Debt Ventures Bhd (MDV).

HDC is the leading body driving the development of an integrated and comprehensive halal ecosystem and infrastructure to position Malaysia as a leader in the global halal industry.

Established on Sept 18, 2006, HDC acts as the main coordinator to encourage participation and facilitate the growth of industry players in the development of Malaysia’s Halal ecosystem.
