JPG Rises In Early Trade

KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 (Bernama) -- Shares of Johor Plantations Group Bhd (JPG) rose in the early trade after recording higher first quarter financial performance ended March 31, 2025 (1Q 2025).

As of 11.45 am, JPG advanced 2.0 sen to RM1.20, with 1.73 million shares traded.

For 1Q 2025, the company posted a higher net profit of RM75.93 million compared to RM49.97 million in the same period last year, attributable to higher crude palm oil and palm kernel prices.

Revenue also rose to RM340.43 million in 1Q 2025 compared to RM294.91 million in the same period last year, while earnings per share in the quarter increased to 3.04 sen from 2.45 sen a year ago.

RHB Investment Bank Bhd said JPG’s 1Q 2025 earnings were in line with its estimates.

“We expect earnings to slightly weaken quarter-on-quarter, looking ahead, due to moderating average selling prices, but this may be offset by improving productivity,” it said in a research note today.

Overall, the investment bank trimmed JPG’s financial year 2025-2027 earnings by 5.0 per cent each after adjusting for slightly lower fresh fruit bunch growth assumptions and higher unit costs.
