Nippon Express Holdings Expands In Bangladesh With CCBL Investment

KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 (Bernama) -- Nippon Express Holdings Inc has acquired a 20 per cent stake in Cold Chain Bangladesh Limited (CCBL), a domestic logistics company based in Dhaka, through its subsidiary Nippon Express (South Asia & Oceania) Pte Ltd.

In a statement, the Nippon Express (NX) Group said the acquisition was completed on May 15, as part of its efforts to strengthen its logistics operations in the fast-growing Bangladeshi logistics market, where demand for domestic services continues to rise.

Since entering the Bangladesh market in 2012, the NX Group has primarily focused on international forwarding services, particularly for the country’s apparel industry. The latest investment is aimed at expanding its presence in the domestic logistics segment in response to increasing demand.

CCBL is a third-party logistics provider with a nationwide distribution infrastructure, including temperature-controlled storage and transportation services.

The partnership would allow the group to leverage CCBL’s logistics assets and network, enabling it to offer end-to-end supply chain solutions by integrating domestic operations with its global logistics network.

The NX Group seeks to capitalise on growth opportunities in the Bangladesh logistics market and enhance value creation for its customers and stakeholders.
