AIC 2025 A Platform To Unlock Regional Growth Opportunities, Promote Sustainability - SC

KUALA LUMPUR, March 26 (Bernama) --  The ASEAN Investment Conference (AIC) 2025 will be an engagement platform to unlock regional growth opportunities and promote sustainability, according to the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC).

Its managing director Datin Paduka Azalina Adham said ASEAN has a “demographic dividend” as the region has a population of over 600 million people and is the fastest-growing region in the world.

"The main focus of AIC 2025 is to look at profiling ASEAN to the ASEAN population itself and the ASEAN+3 region, and to reflect on the opportunities and growth within the region," she told the AIC 2025 media briefing today.

Hosted by the SC, AIC 2025 will take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from April 8-9, 2025. It expects to bring together 400 attendees across ASEAN member states and the ASEAN+3 region.

The conference will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

High-level attendees include Minister of Finance II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Singapore Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Chee Hong Tat and Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry  Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

At the same time, Azalina said the prime minister will also be launching the ASEAN Simplified Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Disclosure Guide for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Supply Chains.

"The CGS International Securities Malaysia will launch an investment challenge for university students to try and get familiar with the capital market.  We will also expect the announcement by the Prime Minister on fractional trading, so those are some of the launches that we expect," she added.
