YTL Communications Partners Equinix, Transcelestial To Enhance Connectivity, AI Capabiliities

KUALA LUMPUR, March 25 (Bernama) -- YTL Communications Sdn Bhd has inked two memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with Equinix Inc and Transcelestial to bring cutting-edge technology solutions to businesses in Malaysia by enhancing connectivity and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across the nation.

In a statement today, the company said it will enable international customers to access YTL AI Cloud via Equinix, enabling YTL AI Cloud to support the growing demand for accelerated computing regionally.

"Through Equinix’s world-leading global interconnection services, businesses can have reliable and secure access to YTL AI Cloud for graphic processing unit (GPU)-as-a-Service, enabling companies to have on-demand access to the latest generation GPUs for their AI workloads.

"With the YTL AI Cloud supported by 100 per cent renewable energy at YTL’s 500 megawatt (MW) Green Data Centre Park, this collaboration will enable businesses to embrace AI with no impact on climate sustainability, in line with global trends towards responsible development of AI," it said.

Meanwhile, YTL Communications is the first telecommunication company in Malaysia to harness Transcelestial’s wireless laser communications technology to deliver a network with fibre-class connectivity flexibly.

"This solution eliminates the need for physical cables, enabling fibre-class ultra-low latency and high-capacity connections, even in locations that are traditionally hard to reach or maintain using conventional fibre technology.

"Transcelestial’s shoebox-sized Centauri devices offer unparalleled deployment flexibility to deliver high-capacity spectrum-free connectivity via lasers, without the need for physical fibre cables," said YTL.
