YTL Communications Bags 5G-AxAi Integrated Innovation Award

KUALA LUMPUR, March 6 (Bernama) -- YTL Communications has clinched the 5G-A×AI Integrated Innovation Award at the GTI Awards 2025 for pioneering Malaysia’s first artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics-based advanced manufacturing deployment for Clarion Malaysia.

Chief executive officer Wing K Lee said the award underscores the company’s commitment to innovate and to deliver world-class solutions to improve lives and lift productivity.

“5G is not just about faster speeds. It is about transforming industries, empowering businesses, and creating digital empowerment for the nation,” he said in a statement today.

YTL Communications successfully delivered an on-premises, self-contained Yes 5G SA Private Network at Clarion Malaysia, elevating its automotive electronics production into a model of Industry 4.0 transformation.

Clarion also becomes Malaysia’s first private 5G-powered smart manufacturing facility. The use of the Yes 5G SA Private Network and AI paved the way for 100 per cent reduction in manual errors, a 70 per cent decrease in processing time, and an 80 per cent improvement in material handling efficiency.

This demonstrates 5G’s potential to boost efficiency, quality and operational agility in the manufacturing sector, the statement said.

The Yes Private 5G network is at the core of this transformation, providing a robust foundation to integrate advanced technologies such as AI, Internet of Things and robotics applications. This has brought about unprecedented levels of intelligence and automation, the statement said.
