AirTrunk Plans Second Data Centre In Johor
JOHOR BAHRU, 14 Feb (Bernama) -- Asia-Pacific hyperscale data centre specialist, AirTrunk, has announced plans to develop its second cloud and artificial intelligence-ready data centre in Malaysia, named AirTrunk JHB2 (JHB2), in Iskandar Puteri, Johor.
AirTrunk said in a statement today that JHB2 which is scalable to over 270 megawatts (MW), would support demand from global public cloud and technology companies in the region.
It said that combined with the company's first data centre (JHB1) in Johor, AirTrunk is investing over RM9.7 billion in Malaysia, providing more than 420MW of IT load.
“The additional capacity will support Malaysia’s fast-growing digital economy and follows the establishment of the landmark for the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ),” it said.
AirTrunk founder and chief executive officer Robin Khuda said AirTrunk’s data centres served as essential infrastructure that would help boost productivity and enable new products and services that can drive economic growth.
