Maybank Ranked Among World's 500 Most Valuable Brands

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 10 (Bernama) -- Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) has once again joined the world’s 500 most valuable brands with a new ranking of 472.

Specifically, in the banking sector, Maybank was ranked 74th and is one of two Malaysian brands to make the list and the only financial institution from Malaysia to do so, a statement said today.

To further contribute to its achievement, its president and group chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Khairussaleh Ramli was ranked 85th on the Brand Finance Top 100 Brand Guardian list. He is the only Malaysian CEO to be part of the list.

Maybank attributed its achievement to an improvement in the Brand Strength Index (BSI), which positively affected customers’ behaviour, resulting in better business performance.

The banking group also secured five awards from Global Finance at the global, regional and country levels for its initiatives in addressing the adverse effects of climate change and building a more sustainable future.

Maybank won the Best Bank for Sustainable Financing in Emerging Markets (Global and Asia Pacific), Best Bank for Sustainability Transparency (Asia Pacific), Best Bank for Sustainable Finance (Malaysia) and Best Bank for Sustainable Finance (Indonesia).

On the financial front, it was also awarded the Best Foreign Exchange Bank (Malaysia).

The announcement was made at the Global Finance Sustainable Finance Awards which recognises financial institutions that excel in supporting a comprehensive range of initiatives essential for a sustainable future while demonstrating creativity in addressing long-term challenges.
