AKPK Unites Financial Institutions And Media To Promote Financial Literacy

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 4 (Bernama) -- The Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) recently organised the “Row and GROW Towards Financial Resilience” programme, designed to promote teamwork, strengthen relationships, and foster camaraderie with financial providers.

Beyond testing physical endurance, the event emphasised teamwork and sustainability in achieving shared goals.

The programme’s main attraction was a dragon boat race featuring over 200 participants from financial institutions, media partners, AKPK advocates (Sahabat AKPK), and AKPK employees.

“Victory was not solely determined by crossing the finish line first. Participants were also judged on their creativity in crafting and chanting war cries that inspired financial awareness, and their strategic planning and synchronised teamwork throughout the race,” it said in a statement.

Each team was named after one of the letters in the word GROW, representing AKPK’s latest financial literacy book series which provides essential guidance tailored to the unique financial challenges encountered during four distinct life stages; youth, entering the workforce, raising a family, and retirement planning.

The series of four books are “Gaining Knowledge” (G), “Realising Potential” (R), “Optimising Resources” (O), and “Wealth Wisdom” (W).

The “Row and GROW towards Financial Resilience” programme is about having fun and promoting togetherness between AKPK and the stakeholders in their shared mission of empowering communities financially at all levels.
