Budget 2025 Estimate The Highest Ever – PM Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) – The RM421 billion Budget 2025 estimate is the highest ever announced, comprising allocations of RM335 billion for operating expenses and RM86 billion for development expenditure, excluding contingency reserves of RM2 billion.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister,  said the government continues to maintain an expansionary budget while keeping to its commitment to gradually reduce the fiscal deficit.

“In addition to government-funded development allocations, public-private partnership projects worth RM9 billion will also be implemented through domestic direct investments by government-linked investment companies (GLICs) totalling RM25 billion,” he said while tabling the Budget 2025 in Parliament today.

He added that this brings public investments for development in 2025 to a total of RM120 billion.

At the same time, he emphasised this is not the time for mega projects.

“The country’s development will focus on people-centric projects and facilities that support industrial areas according to the priorities of each state,” he said.
