KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 1 (Bernama) -- Sabah FC is still winless this Super League season after their eighth match ended in a 2-1 loss to Selangor FC at Likas Stadium tonight.
The home team began well, taking only nine minutes to score their first goal with a header by Fergus Tierney off a cross by Miguel Cifuentes.
Sabah held on to their lead till the end of the first half, when Selangor’s Alves Fortes got a well-deserved equaliser by punishing Sabah’s failure for clearing the ball from the penalty box.
Selangor’s winning goal came in the second half courtesy of Faisal Halim in the 59th minute when he capitalised on the home team’s mistake.
The Red Giants’ three points place them fifth in the standings while Sabah languishes at 10th.
Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur (KL) City FC beat Kelantan The Real Warriors 2-1 at Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium tonight.
KL City’s two goals came from Kpah Sherman (65’) and Zhafri Yahya (81’) while Kelantan’s solitary goal came from Muhammad Syafik Ismail (90’).
In the final match tonight, Kuching City FC had a good run beating PDRM FC at Selayang Municipal Council Stadium 5-0.
Kuching City’s Wanja Ronald Ngah netted a hattrick (20’, 31’ and 37’), while the other two goals came from teammates Yuki Tanigawa (13’) and Muhammad Ramadhan Saifullah Usman (54’).
