KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has extended his condolences to the family of six-year-old Muhammad Faith Fatih Abdullah Fattah, a child with autism, who was found dead in an oil palm plantation area in Kampung Baru near Sungai Sumun, Hutan Melintang, last night.
In a Facebook post today, Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Member of Parliament for Bagan Datuk, said the news of the child's death was heartbreaking, especially as it involved a young child with special needs.
“I extend my condolences to the entire family, especially his parents. There is no greater test for a mother and father than losing a beloved child," he said.
He also prayed that the victim's family would be granted strength and patience in facing the tragic loss.
"Let us recite Al-Fatihah and pray that Allah SWT showers His mercy upon his soul," he said.
The child was reported missing yesterday before being found dead in a drain within the oil palm plantation area at 10.08 pm during a search and rescue operation.
Bagan Datuk police chief Supt Mohammad Ali Mohd Jali said police received a report on the incident at about 4.54 pm, stating that the child was last seen in the living room of his home.
