Kidslympic Rebranded As Kidsnergy To Boost Children’s Sports Development
KUALA LUMPUR, June 24 (Bernama) -- The popular children’s sports development programme, Kidslympic, has been officially rebranded as Kidsnergy in a bid to empower the young generation through a more inclusive, holistic and comprehensive sports platform.
Kidsnergy co-founder Goh Liu Ying, who won the 2016 Rio Olympics mixed doubles silver medal with Chan Peng Soon, said the transformation is not merely a name change, but an evolution aimed at creating a synergy among children, families and communities through an active lifestyle.
Liu Ying explained that the name Kidsnergy, which combines the words 'Kids' and 'Synergy', was chosen to shift perceptions of the previous branding, which sounded too professional, into a movement that is more family-oriented.
“We started discussing this last year, but only announced it this month because we felt this was the right time,” she told reporters after the launch here today.
She said a significant innovation this year is the introduction of a category for children with special needs at the upcoming flagship event to ensure that this group is not left behind in sports development initiatives.
Liu Ying stressedthat the initiative aimed at giving parents greater confidence to encourage their children to participate in outdoor activities, while creating joy and strengthening family bonds in a positive environment.
Meanwhile, fellow co-founder Kien Lim said Kidsnergy is a long-term movement targeting the involvement of as many children as possiible.
“Every child possesses energy, talent, dreams and potential. Kidsnergy exists to provide opportunities for every child to discover their strengths, develop their character and unlock their potential.
“Our vision extends beyond sports - we are building a healthier, stronger and more united generation for Malaysia and beyond,” he said.
As part of its long-term roadmap, Kidsnergy will introduce a series of nationwide initiatives, including the School Tour, Games Qualifier, Run Series, Beach Games, Malaysia Games and International Games.
