MELAKA, June 13 (Bernama) -- A total of 1,500 youth associations nationwide have received the SejaTi MADANI X Youth grant, which the government introduced this year, said Youth and Sports Minister Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari.
He said the grant, which has an allocation of RM250 million, is aimed at generating income for youth organisations in fields related to entrepreneurship.
“We hope that the youth will not only be able to become leaders but also become successful entrepreneurs, and that their organisations can be independent without relying on external assistance.
“The grant will enable them to venture into entrepreneurship in the fields of agriculture, tourism and so on,” he said.
He told reporters this after attending the town hall session held in conjunction with the 2026 state-level Grassroots Youth Inspiration Tour (KIBAR) programme at Dewan Haji Katimin, Kampung Paya Redan here today.
Also present were Majlis Gabungan Belia Melaka (MGBM) president Datuk Khaidhirah Abu Zahar, who is also the Rim state assemblyman.
Mohammed Taufiq said he was confident that the target of 3,500 youth organisations applying for the grant by the end of this year can be achieved.
The government had expanded the provision of the SejaTi MADANI Grant programme this year to include youth organisations to develop entrepreneurial activities that can generate income for their associations.
