KUALA LUMPUR, June 11 (Bernama) -- The government will enhance unity education through a more practical, high-impact approach, including the integration of Rukun Negara values, experiential learning and cross-cultural interaction programmes in educational institutions.
In a Facebook post today, National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said the initiative was among the issues discussed at the National Unity Advisory Council (MPPN) Meeting No. 1 of 2026.
“The meeting discussed various strategic proposals and recommendations to bolster national unity in addressing current challenges, including social polarisation, civic literacy, and the impact of digital transformation on society.
“We also reviewed proposals to improve the General Studies Subjects (MPU) in higher education institutions through four new modules focusing on nation-building, appreciation of the Federal Constitution, civic literacy, and a culture of integrity,” he said.
He said the meeting also noted proposals to reinforce the Community Sensitive Issues Reference Centre (PRISMA) as a platform for data coordination, early warning and a national reference hub for managing sensitive community issues in a more comprehensive and integrated way.
