Serbia's Vucic Announces Opening Of Robot Factory Jointly With China In One Month

BELGRADE, June 9 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Monday the opening of a joint robot factory with a Chinese company in one month, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

The Serbian leader said in late May during a visit to China that he expected the first humanoid robots produced jointly with China on Serbian soil to be ready in July.

"There's still a month left until the opening of a new robot factory 70 kilometres from Belgrade," Vucic told the Pink TV broadcaster.

In March, he announced that Serbia and the Chinese company Minth would open the country's first factory for humanoid robots and robot dogs in the west of the country in early summer. The Serbian president then specified that the plan was to produce 1,000 humanoid robots and 10,000 multifunctional robot dogs.

In February, he promised to launch mass production of robots in Serbia and present thousands of them at the next military parade after he and Chinese Ambassador Li Ming attended a presentation by AGIBOT Innovation at the Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade. Humanoid robots wearing Serbian national vests then danced to music and also chatted with Vucic.
