Negeri Sembilan JPJ Issues 3,062 Notices During Special Aidiladha Op

SEREMBAN, June 1 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan Road Transport Department (JPJ) issued 3,062 notices after inspecting 14,150 vehicles in a special Aidiladha operation held from May 24 until yesterday.

State JPJ director Jasyindar Singh Sihdu said 1,673 of the vehicles inspected were taken action against for various offences under the Road Transport Act 1987.

He said the highest number of offences recorded was 1,055 involving major violations such as overtaking on double lines, using mobile phones while driving, failing to obey red traffic lights, not wearing seatbelts and queue-cutting, followed by vehicle licensing offences (686), other offences (562), technical offences (406), driver licensing offences (317) and goods-related offences (36).

“A total of 73 vehicles were seized for various offences, with 71 seized under the Road Transport Act 1987 and two under the Land Public Transport Act 2010.

“A total of 77 notices were issued to bus drivers for violating regulations, while 29 notices were issued to passengers for failing to comply with rear seatbelt requirements,” he said in a statement here today.
