30 Cows Worth RM160,000 Distributed For Aidiladha Qurban Ritual In Tangga Batu

MELAKA, May 25 (Bernama) -- A total of 30 cows worth more than RM160,000 have been distributed across four state constituencies in the Tangga Batu parliamentary constituency for the qurban ritual in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha this year. 

Tangga Batu UMNO division chief and Paya Rumput state assemblyman Datuk Rais Yasin said the four state constituencies are Sungai Udang, Pantai Kundor, Paya Rumput and Kelebang, with the distribution carried out through representatives from mosques, surau and village communities. 

“Each year, we target to distribute between 25 and 30 cattle within the Tangga Batu parliamentary constituency for the qurban ritual, and this year the number has increased to 30 compared to 28 last year. 

“The increase is because we also distributed to representatives from the police housing area in Krubong, which is the newest residential area in the Paya Rumput constituency,” he told reporters after the symbolic handover ceremony of sacrificial animals in conjunction with Aidiladha 1447H at the Paya Rumput State Legislative Assembly Development and Coordination Committee Complex (Japerun) here today. 

He added that the cows were also distributed to representatives from three military camps in the Sungai Udang constituency.
