KUALA LUMPUR, May 22 (Bernama) — The Malaysia CyberSecurity Centre of Excellence (CCoE) in Cyberjaya has benefited nearly 10,000 civil servants and ICT professionals through various courses and certifications since 2024, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

He said the initiative has helped to strengthen the country’s preparedness amid increasingly complex cyber threats and post-quantum challenges.

Anwar said in his Facebook post today that he received a BlackBerry Ltd delegation led by chief executive officer and president, John Giamatteo, together with Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia representatives.

“This was to discuss efforts to strengthen local competencies in cybersecurity and future technologies,” he said in a Facebook post today.

He was also briefed on strategic collaborations involving the Smart Campus programme, the development of BlackBerry QNX technology for the electric vehicle, semiconductor, and industrial automation sectors, and the locally developed PeritoCare portable dialysis device.

“May the government, industry, and academia continue to synergise to strengthen and to elevate locally developed innovations and technologies onto the global stage,” he said.
