Bank Islam Offers Integrated Banking Solutions For Malaysian Haj Pilgrims

KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 (Bernama) -- Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd is offering integrated and comprehensive haj banking solutions to help Malaysian pilgrims manage their financial affairs seamlessly, from pre-departure preparations to the performance of haj rituals in Makkah and Madinah.

As the main strategic partner of Lembaga Tabung Haji for this year’s haj season, the bank said the specially designed banking ecosystem aims to ensure pilgrims’ affairs are managed smoothly, efficiently and securely, allowing them to focus fully on their worship.

In a statement today, Bank Islam said pilgrims could make early preparations through its more than 130 branches nationwide, including for Tabung Haji-related matters, fund management and retail banking services.

“Among the facilities offered are will-writing services, Takaful myClick Travel PA with medical and personal financial protection of up to RM500,000, as well as 24-hour emergency assistance.

“Bank Islam also offers the Awfar transactional investment product, which provides fund transfer, bill payment and online purchase facilities, alongside opportunities to win prizes through the Awfar draw with total prizes worth RM18 million annually,” it said.

The bank said the full range of offerings is supported through the BIMB Mobile application and BIMB Web platform, enabling customers to open and monitor accounts, as well as carry out transactions conveniently before departing for the Holy Land.

In addition, Bank Islam said holders of the Bank Islam Visa TH Debit Card-i could make purchases at more than 60 million merchant locations worldwide and withdraw cash from more than 2.5 million automated teller machines (ATMs), including in Saudi Arabia.

The bank said it is also waiving fees for cash withdrawals at VISA Plus ATMs in Saudi Arabia throughout this haj season to help reduce additional costs and minimise the need to carry large amounts of cash.

“At the same time, the bank is offering exchange services for 30 foreign currencies without fees or charges at Bank Islam Bureau de Change branches nationwide, including at Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

“To support pilgrims in the holy land, Bank Islam has deployed 10 dedicated personnel at five locations in Makkah and two locations in Madinah throughout the haj season to assist with banking-related matters, card usage and transaction issues,” it said.
