LABUAN, May 22 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) enforcers here, in collaboration with the police, seized diesel and related equipment worth RM106,570.50 after busting an illegal diesel storage activity at a house in Kampung Tanjung Aru here yesterday.

Labuan KPDN director Junaidah Arbain said the raid was carried out at 9.45 am under the integrated Ops Tiris 4.0 and Ops Keberhasilan.

She said an inspection at the premises led to the discovery of three Intermediate Bulk Container (IBC) tanks, each with a capacity of 1,000 litres, containing liquid believed to be diesel.

“The raiding team also found three electric pumps complete with hoses, a four-wheel-drive vehicle and an additional vehicle tank believed to have been used to transfer the controlled item.

“The total amount of diesel found at the location was estimated at 2,870 litres,” she told Bernama today.

Junaidah said no individual was found at the scene during the operation, and the premises was believed to have been used as a transit and temporary storage point before the diesel was transferred elsewhere.

She said all seized items, including the suspected controlled item, were confiscated for further investigation under the Control of Supplies Act 1961 for suspected possession and storage of scheduled controlled goods without valid approval.

“KPDN Labuan sternly warns any party against engaging in the misappropriation of controlled goods, including storage, transfer and sale without valid approval.

“We will continue to intensify enforcement operations and will not compromise with any individual or syndicate attempting to exploit subsidised controlled goods,” she said.
