KUALA LUMPUR, May 19 (Bernama) -- Red Sea Global (RSG), the regenerative tourism developer, has reached a major milestone as Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea at Shura Island welcomed its first guests beginning May 20.

RSG in a statement said the opening marks the first joint venture-developed resort within its portfolio to enter the market.

Developed in partnership with Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), the launch represents a new phase in RSG’s development model and highlights the growing role of institutional and private-sector partnerships in expanding Saudi Arabia’s luxury tourism sector.

“With Four Seasons preparing to welcome guests, we are significantly scaling the capacity and offering of The Red Sea destination in time for one of the busiest travel periods in our calendar,” said Red Sea Global Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), John Pagano.

The 2.6 billion Saudi riyal resort was developed through a 50-50 joint venture between RSG and KHC, with two billion Saudi riyals in debt financing provided by Riyad Bank. (100 Saudi riyals = RM106.00)

CEO of Kingdom Hotel Investments, a subsidiary of KHC, Sarmad Zok said the investment reflects KHC’s continued commitment to long-term hospitality and tourism assets in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Located at the secluded eastern tip of Shura Island, the resort features 149 accommodations and 31 Resort Residences, alongside dining outlets, water sports activities, and curated programmes for children and teenagers.

Operating in line with RSG’s regenerative tourism principles, the resort is powered entirely by renewable energy and supported by advanced water and waste management systems designed to minimise environmental impact and support long-term conservation goals.
