King Presents Instruments Of Appointment To 2026-2028 MAIWP Members

KUALA LUMPUR, May 18 (Bernama) -- His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, presented instruments of appointment to members of the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) for the 2026-2028 term at a ceremony held at Istana Negara today.

His Majesty presented appointment instruments to Datuk Syed Kamarulzaman Syed Kabeer as MAIWP chairman, Datuk Dr Sirajuddin Suhaimee as deputy chairman, and Datuk Mohd Nizam Yahya as MAIWP secretary.

Also receiving their instruments were MAIWP’s zakat collection centre chairman, Datuk Seri Amrin Awaluddin, Federal Territory Mufti, Datuk Dr Ahmad Fauwaz Fadzil, Kuala Lumpur police chief, Datuk Fadil Marsus, and Kuala Lumpur mayor, Datuk Seri Fadlun Mak Ujud.

Other recipients were Senior Deputy Secretary-General of the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Abd Shukor Mahmood and Head of the Shariah and Harmonisation of Law Division at the Attorney General’s Chambers, Datuk Anas Ahmad Zakie.

Corporate figure Tan Sri Azman Mokhtar and veteran administrator and civil servant Datuk Seri Dr Yusof Ismail also received their instruments of appointment.
