KUALA LUMPUR, May 12 (Bernama) -- Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Bhd said it was committed to empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with tailored insurance solutions to strengthen resilience and help them adapt to an evolving risk environment amid economic headwinds.
Chief executive officer Sean Wang Wee Keong said the solutions ensure SMEs have the tools and support needed to recover and seize growth opportunities, including financial assistance for unexpected business closures and coverage for foreign workers.
“Our goal is to provide businesses with a safety net that not only protects their assets but also enables them to recover and rebuild stronger when unforeseen events occur. We are fully committed to being a trusted partner for SMEs and commercial entities in Malaysia,” he said in a statement.
The company said it is offering one-time financial assistance of up to RM20,000 under its Allianz Business Shield, Standard Fire or Commercial Fire policies to support corporate policyholders when a covered event forces insured premises to shut for at least 48 hours.
It said the assistance complements the broader protection under Allianz Business Shield, which provides tailored coverage based on customers’ needs.
Standard Fire and Commercial Fire policies may also be extended to cover not only fire-related losses but other risks such as floods and damage from falling trees.
The initiative runs from Feb 1, 2026 to Dec 31, 2026, or until total payouts reach RM2.5 million, whichever is earlier.
Separately, Allianz General said it is enhancing support for employers through its Foreign Workers Hospitalisation and Surgical (FWHS) policy, aimed at easing the financial burden should foreign workers require hospital treatment due to accident or illness.
It also provides additional protection via a complimentary RM10,000 one-year Group Personal Accident cover, which includes benefits for accidental death or permanent disablement. The cover is included with every FWHS policy issued between Feb 1, 2026 and Dec 31, 2026.
