Flood Victims In Perak Drop Further This Morning

IPOH, May 12 (Bernama) -- The number of flood victims at Sekolah Kebangsaan Matang Gelugor Temporary Evacuation Centre (PPS) in the Larut, Matang and Selama district decreased to 34 victims from nine families this morning, compared to 38 victims from 10 families last night.

The District Disaster Management Committee Secretariat in a statement announced that all the victims from Kampung Matang Pasir have been taking shelter at the PPS since 1.30 am yesterday.

Meanwhile, the Perak Irrigation and Drainage Department announced that the water level in Sungai Kinta in Tanjung Tualang is still at the danger level with a reading of 12.50 metres (m), compared to the normal level of 10 m.

The Meteorological Department is expecting storms in all districts this afternoon.
