SINZIG (Germany) May 8 (Bernama-dpa) -- The hostage situation at a bank in the western German town of Sinzig has been concluded, police said on Friday, reported German Press Agency (dpa).

Two apparent victims were found unharmed, a police spokesman said, adding that the search for the perpetrators is ongoing.

Special police forces carried out a raid and found the two people locked in a room.

Police believe the perpetrator or perpetrators fled the scene via an as yet unknown route.

Initial findings suggest that several perpetrators held hostages at the bank branch in Sinzig, in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.

One of the hostages was reportedly the driver of a cash transport vehicle.

Several hundred officers were deployed, and a large area around the bank was cordoned off.
