KUANTAN, May 7 (Bernama) -- The Tunku Azizah Trophy has returned for its second year to once again challenge the finesse and expertise of artisans in the Royal Pahang Weave competition through the creation of Kain Samping, Kain Tanjak and Kain Bengkung.

The Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah said this year’s competition presents a more distinctive challenge as participants are required to produce all three woven products according to the specified measurements.

“Participation is open to all citizens aged 18 and above, either individually or in groups of not more than three people.

“The inaugural competition last year attracted 103 participants, with a total of 206 woven products produced,” Her Royal Highness said in a press conference at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) here today.

Tunku Azizah said the Pahang Heritage Festival held last year attracted more than 100,000 visitors, and the number is expected to double during the second edition this year.

The festival is scheduled to take place from Aug 29 to Sept 7, from 10 am to 10 pm at MOCA.
