KOTA BHARU, May 3 (Bernama) -- The newly-completed Kota Bharu Federal Complex in Tunjong is set to be a new Federal Government landmark in Kelantan, the Public Works Department (JKR) said.
The complex, which houses 36 agencies from 15 ministries in a modern integrated administrative centre, is built on 27.28 acres, and was officially handed over by the JKR to the Prime Minister’s Department by JKR director-general Datuk Seri Roslan Ismail.
“The project, which began on June 1, 2020 was completed in April 16 this year. The project was completed even though there were many challenges, including the implementation of the Movement Control Order, thanks to the commitment and teamwork of all parties involved.
"The project also achieved a three-star MYCREST rating,” the JKR said in a statement recently.
The federal complex has three main blocks, a 300-seat capacity auditorium, a 1,000-person capacity multipurpose hall, surau, cafeteria and sports facilities including a badminton court, a sepak takraw court and a futsal court.
Other facilities include a main switch station building, a water retention pond and chiller plant, the department added.
