Thunderstorms And Heavy Rain Across The Whole Country Until 6 Pm Today

KUALA LUMPUR, May 2 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has forecast thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds across the whole country until 6.00 this evening.

In a statement, the department said that the warning affects Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Selangor, Melaka, and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan.

The same conditions are expected to affect Perak, covering Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim.

In Kelantan, the affected districts are Pasir Mas, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Machang, Kuala Krai and Gua Musang, while in Terengganu, the warning covers Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman.

In Pahang, the areas involved include Lipis, Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, Bera and Rompin.

Negeri Sembilan will see similar weather in Seremban, Port Dickson and Rembau, while in Johor, the warning applies to Segamat, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian and Kulai.

Over in Sarawak, the warning has been issued for Kuching, Samarahan, Betong (Saratok), Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah (including Tanjung Manis and Mukah), Kapit (Song, Kapit and Bukit Mabong), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Telang Usan and Marudi) and Limbang.

In Sabah, the affected areas include the Interior (Sipitang, Kuala Penyu and Beaufort), the West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud), as well as Kudat (Kota Marudu and Pitas).
