JOHOR BAHRU, May 2 (Bernama) -- The Johor Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) busted illegal diesel trading activities through Ops Tiris 4.0 at an industrial premises in Ulu Tiram, here on April 30.
Its director, Lilis Saslinda Pornomo said a 60-year-old local man was also arrested following a raid conducted based on intelligence information by the state KPDN Enforcement Division.
She said the inspection found that the premises did not have any valid license to carry out diesel-related activities.
According to her, the modus operandi of this activity is believed to be hiding behind the business name of a diesel oil wholesaler.
"The supplies (diesel) were obtained from a supplier, before being sold to transport companies without a valid license," she said in a statement.
She said her party seized about 10,300 litres of diesel oil, a skid tank, a set of fuel pumps complete with nozzles and hoses as well as transaction documents with a total seizure worth RM85,736.
Lilis Saslinda said the case was being investigated under the Control of Supplies Act 1961, stressing that her party was committed to strengthening enforcement activities to combat any form of misuse of controlled goods.
