KANGAR, May 1 (Bernama) -- Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (ANGKASA) is organising the Nat Antarabangsa ANGKASA Perlis 2026 programme from today until Sunday to strengthen economic links among cooperatives, communities and local entrepreneurs through expanded sales platforms, product promotion and business matching.

In a statement, ANGKASA said the programme, held at the floating market of the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) here, offers cooperatives a platform to market products directly to consumers while building networks with strategic partners.

“The event features 50 cooperative exhibitors showcasing a wide range of products and services, including food and beverages, essential goods, agricultural produce and innovative offerings.

“This participation reflects the cooperative movement’s ability to meet current market needs and highlights its strong growth potential in the national economy,” ANGKASA said.

The three-day programme is part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen cooperatives as a people-focused economic platform, aimed at increasing income, easing the cost of living through the Rahmah MADANI Sales initiative, and enhancing business capacity in Perlis.

The highlight of the programme will be its official opening on Sunday night by the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail, during which a memorandum of understanding (MoU) exchange is expected to open up new strategic collaboration opportunities.

The Nat Antarabangsa Malaysia Halal Marketplace platform will also be launched to expand the digital market reach of cooperative products, particularly in the halal segment, which has strong global potential.

The programme will feature a range of activities, including lucky draws, special performances and a fireworks display to enliven the main event.

In addition, the Kenduri ANGKASA Negeri Perlis will be held as a symbol of unity and togetherness among cooperative members and the local community

On the first day, visitors can take part in product sales and the Rahmah MADANI Sales programme, which offers essential goods at affordable prices, as well as a colouring contest for children to encourage family participation.

“On the second day, visitors can experience a floating farmers’ market organised by the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA), featuring fresh produce and agro-based products.

“The Puisi Nusantara programme and drum performances highlighting regional arts and cultural elements will also be held to add value to the nat as an economic and cultural platform,” ANGKASA added.

On Sunday, the International Nat Discourse: Challenges and the Future forum will bring together industry players, cooperative leaders and stakeholders to discuss strategies to strengthen the cooperative sector in facing global economic challenges.

As such, ANGKASA invites the public to attend and support local products and cooperatives.
