KUALA LUMPUR, April 28 (Bernama) -- Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City (SMC) successfully hosted SunMed Healthy Living Carnival 2026, attracting over 4,000 participants who took practical steps towards improving their overall health and well-being.

SMC said the carnival featured a fun and engaging environment where visitors participated in a series of interactive and educational activities such as football, lightning reflex, pickleball, and balance and control challenges, alongside stations dedicated to hearing and cancer health awareness.

“The event also featured a Healthy Living Marketplace featuring a curated selection of wellness, nutrition, fitness and lifestyle brands, underscoring the hospital’s commitment to promoting holistic well-being within the community,” SMC said in a statement today.

SMC Business Development and Corporate Communications senior director Tan Mei Shin said the event not only underscored its ongoing commitment to healthcare excellence but also brought people together to prioritise health and overall well-being in a positive and supportive space.

“It is truly rewarding to see individuals caring for themselves and one another, united by a shared goal of achieving better health and a better life,” she said.

The carnival also featured various complimentary health screenings conducted by SMC’s renowned Centres of Excellence, such as body composition analysis, pain assessment, postural blood pressure, memory screening and many more.

The success of the carnival was made possible through the support of sponsors and partners, including BLACKMORES, Herbaland, Anytime Fitness, Sunway Lagoon, Gintell, Julie’s, and many others.

“This collaboration reflects a collective effort to enhance community health and enable more impactful initiatives in the coming future for Malaysians,” SMC added.

SMC is Malaysia’s largest private quaternary hospital that is equipped with 28 Centres of Excellence with more than 300 resident medical consultants across over 80 medical specialities.

The hospital was recently ranked number one in Malaysia in Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals 2026 for the second consecutive year, while also leading the country in Newsweek’s World’s Best Smart Hospitals 2026.

The hospital was also awarded as the Hospital of the Year - Malaysia and the Smart Hospital Initiative of the Year - Malaysia at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026, reaffirming the hospital’s continued excellence in patient safety and patient-centred care.

SMC is also Malaysia’s first hospital to be recognised with three major hospital-wide accreditations, including the Joint Commission International (JCI) Accreditation, the Gold Seal of Approval from the United States of America, the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS), and the Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH).
