MOSCOW, April 22 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Heads of state gathered Wednesday in Kazakhstan's capital, Astana, for the first-ever Regional Ecological Summit, Anadolu Ajansi reported.
The summit organised with the United Nations (UN) as a strategic partner will run through Thursday.
Among the foreign dignitaries attending the summit are Tajikistan's President Emomali Rahmon, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, and Turkmenistan's President Serdar Berdimuhamedow.
Also in attendance are Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov, and Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Convened under the theme "One Region, One Vision, One Future", the summit is designed to develop practical solutions to address the environmental and climate challenges facing the region and the world.
