Pakistan Ready For Second Round of US–Iran Talks: Minister

ISLAMABAD, April 20 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- Pakistan's Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi informed Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, on Monday that preparations for the second phase of talks in Islamabad have been completed, the interior ministry said, reported Xinhua.

According to a statement, the minister met the ambassador to discuss arrangements for the second round of talks, saying that foolproof security arrangements have been put in place for visiting foreign delegations.

The minister emphasised the importance of resolving disputes through dialogue and negotiation, stressing that a sustainable solution is essential for long-term regional stability and peace.

The Iranian envoy appreciated Pakistan's "positive and constructive role" in efforts to reduce tensions and facilitate dialogue in the region, the statement said.

Earlier in the day, the interior minister visited the United States (US) Embassy in Islamabad and updated the US side on the security arrangements for the second round of talks in Islamabad, a statement from the ministry said.
