The UMNO Perak Information Chief succeeds Datuk Syed Anuar Syed Mohamad, who has now been appointed as an advisor to the association.

He was elected last night in the capital at the 13th Annual General Meeting of the GPMS National Alumni, where the Supreme Executive Council for the 2026/2028 term was also elected.

The event was officiated by Datuk Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii, political secretary to the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, and also attended by Datuk Roslan Ariffin, director of the Tun Abdul Razak Institute of Information and Broadcasting (IPPTAR), along with state representatives.

"With our current committee, backed by extensive experience and a strong standing, we can contribute to the nation through education policy by engaging stakeholders and ensuring our children's education is safeguarded," he told Bernama.

The deputy president position was won by Sabaruddin Daud, while the four vice president roles were filled by Prof Datuk Seri Dr Rasyid Maidin, Datuk Abdul Said Hussain, Datin Hazimah Samin, and Prof Muhd Zul Azhan Yahya.
