PUTRAJAYA, April 15 (Bernama) -- The government’s move to increase the BUDI diesel assistance and the Ploughing Incentive for Padi Farmers (IPKP) rate will help alleviate operating cost pressures on the people and strengthen the country’s food supply chain amid global economic uncertainty.

In a statement today, Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaysia (YADIM) president Datuk Dr Hasan Bahrom said the decision reflected the MADANI Government’s commitment to ensuring that assistance is channelled in a more targeted manner to those who truly need it.

He said YADIM expressed its highest appreciation to the MADANI Government for increasing BUDI diesel assistance from RM300 to RM400 per month and for raising the IPKP rate for the 2026 planting season from RM160 to RM300 per hectare.

Hasan said the approach reflected the core values of Malaysia MADANI, particularly the principles of well-being, compassion and sustainability, in ensuring the long-term resilience of the people’s welfare and the agricultural sector.

“From a dakwah perspective, this effort is in line with Islamic teachings in managing resources in a trustworthy manner and distributing the nation’s wealth to safeguard the interests of the ummah.

“Supporting and appreciating policies that bring great benefits to the people is part of the collective responsibility in building a just and prosperous society,” he said.

In this regard, he called on all segments of society to appreciate the Government’s concern and to further reinforce the spirit of togetherness in facing cost-of-living challenges.

“YADIM is committed to playing its role in strengthening community understanding through a dakwah approach that supports national development efforts grounded in Malaysia MADANI values for the sake of shared prosperity,” he said.
