Two Women, 13 Boys Held Over Fight Outside School

JOHOR BAHRU, April 11 (Bernama) -- Two women and 13 boys have been detained by police to assist in investigations into a fight that broke out outside a secondary school in Bandar Selesa Jaya, Skudai, yesterday.

Iskandar Puteri district police chief ACP M Kumarasan said police received information on the incident at 12.45 pm before detaining the suspects, aged between 12 and 37, in Nusa Bestari and Iskandar Puteri between 3 pm and 11.11 pm.

He said the altercation is believed to have been triggered by dissatisfaction after one of the suspects was slapped, which led to a fight after school hours.

“The two women have been remanded for three days, while all the boys have been remanded for four days starting today to facilitate investigations,” he said in a statement today.

The case is being investigated under Sections 147 and 323 of the Penal Code for rioting and voluntarily causing hurt, respectively.

Earlier, a 29-second video of the incident went viral on Facebook.
