Iran Internet Blackout Surpasses 1,000 Hours: Internet Watchdog

ISTANBUL, April 11 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Iran’s nationwide internet shutdown has exceeded 1,000 hours, according to data that was shared on Saturday by internet monitoring group NetBlocks, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported.

In a post on X, NetBlocks said, “1000 hours,” alongside a graph showing network connectivity in Iran dropping from near-normal levels to around 1 per cent in early March and remaining at that level through April 10.

Previous reports by NetBlocks and international media said the shutdown began on Feb 28 following the United States (US)-Israeli strikes on Iran that began Feb 28, which have reportedly killed more than 3,000 Iranians, including the then Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

The blackout has since stretched beyond 40 days, making it one of the longest nationwide internet disruptions recorded, with most users limited to heavily restricted domestic networks.
