PUTRAJAYA, April 10 (Bernama) -- All agencies under the Prime Minister’s Department (JPM) must exercise greater discipline in setting project priorities to ensure that every expenditure delivers tangible value and direct benefits to the people, said Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
He said the matter was emphasised during a management meeting with heads of departments and agencies under JPM, which he chaired today. The meeting also reviewed audit findings, compliance, financial performance and issues related to development projects.
“I stressed that all agencies must re-evaluate their project priorities with greater discipline and clearly distinguish between ‘must-have’ and ‘nice-to-have’ initiatives.
“Every expenditure and project implementation must be based on value to the people, ensuring that all efforts translate into meaningful and directly felt benefits,” he said in a post on his official Facebook page.
Shamsul Azri added that JPM and its agencies must set the benchmark in governance and service delivery, while ensuring that every initiative implemented produces real and measurable impact.
