KUALA LUMPUR, March 31 (Bernama) — Tune Talk Sdn Bhd aims to grow its subscriber base to five million by the end of 2027, with a potential initial public offering (IPO) to be evaluated thereafter.
Tune Talk co-founder and chief executive officer Gurtaj Singh Padda expressed confidence that the target is achievable, noting that the company currently has 1.8 million subscribers.
“End of 2027 is where we think that we should be closer to five million. That is the North Pole, that is the effort, hopefully we will get there.
“Should we, as a team, discuss the possibility of going public? My employees are my shareholders now; they will decide,” he told reporters after a media roundtable session here today.
On February 11, 2026, Tune Talk announced the establishment of an Employee Share Trust Scheme (ESTS), a strategic initiative designed not only to recognise employee contributions and position staff as equity participants, but also to strengthen long-term financial security for its workforce as the company accelerates its path toward an IPO.
With employees contributing significantly to Tune Talk’s growth, the establishment of the ESTS reflects the company’s commitment to recognising their hard work and ensuring they benefit directly from the value they help create.
As part of the ESTS, Gurtaj have voluntarily transferred 4.15 per cent of the total issued share capital of Tune Talk Sdn Bhd into a dedicated Trust Fund for the benefit of Tune Talk employees, executed pursuant to a formal Trust Deed.
Meanwhile, he said the company is also focused on expanding its E-Roaming “Roam As Home” services in phases this year, beginning with Zone 1 targeting Asian countries, followed by subsequent zones in the months ahead.
“For Zone 2, we will be in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt and Oman. Then Zone 3, entire Europe (France, Germany, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Switzerland, Portugal and Denmark).
“By May 1, 2026, Zone 1 comes into play. Within a month, Zone 2 will be in place with additional zones rolling out in the subsequent months. Maybe all of them in two months, depending upon the team’s pace, because we have to test it in each country. Apart from that, everything else is already in place,” he said.
