KUALA LUMPUR, March 30 (Bernama) -- His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, graced the QSR Brands Shared Efforts in Helping Underprivileged Students event at a hotel here today.
According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's Facebook page, His Majesty was greeted upon arrival by QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd (QSR Brands) chief executive officer and managing director Nehchal Khanna and the company's top management.
Also present was Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.
At the event, Sultan Ibrahim also witnessed the presentation of a mock cheque for RM1 million from Nehchai to representatives of the first recipients of selected educational institutions, namely Sekolah Kebangsaan Tasek Utara, in Johor Bahru (Sekolah Rintis Bangsa Johor) and Baitul Sakinah Care Centre in Selangor.
Meanwhile, Nehchai, in his speech, said the initiative was inspired by His Majesty's concern to always prioritise giving back to the community and supporting the country's development, even in challenging times.
"This initiative focuses on education and welfare by providing students with a stronger foundation and meaningful opportunities to improve their lives,” he said.
