Internet In Iran Disrupted For Over 500 Hours - Netblocks

MOSCOW, March 22 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- The internet in Iran has been almost completely shut down for more than 500 hours, or 22 days, international internet monitoring service NetBlocks said on Sunday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

Internet connection in Iran has been almost completely disabled since Feb 28. On March 15, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the internet in Iran is limited for security reasons, since the state is subjected to aggression and is obliged to protect the people.

"After 528 hours, Iran is entering a 23rd day isolated from the world as the regime-imposed internet blackout continues in its fourth week," NetBlocks said in a statement on X.

The internet shutdown in Iran has been going on for the fourth week, the service added.

On Feb 28, the US and Israel began striking targets in Iran, including Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran is carrying out retaliatory strikes on Israeli territory, as well as on US military targets in the West Asia region.
