KUCHING, March 20 (Bernama) -- Three people were killed and five others injured in an accident involving two vehicles near Kampung Selepong Jinggau, Sri Aman, at about 8.30 am this morning.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) in a statement said the accident involved two vehicles, a Proton X70 and a Perodua Alza, which was 100 per cent burnt.
"The three victims in the Proton X70 comprising a 70-year-old man and two women, each aged 22, were confirmed dead at the scene by the medical team.
"Two other passengers in the same vehicle, a six-year-old boy and a four-year-old boy, suffered head injuries and were sent to the Sri Aman Hospital for further treatment while the bodies of the three deceased victims have been handed over to the police for further action,” said the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department.
Meanwhile, three victims in the Perodua Alza, consisting of an adult woman and two boys, managed to escape with suffered minor injuries before the vehicle burst into flames and the victims were taken to hospital for treatment.
