Qatari Defence Ministry Says It Intercepted Missile Attack Targeting Country

ISTANBUL, March 14 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- The Qatari Defence Ministry said Saturday it intercepted a missile attack targeting the country, Anadolu Ajansi reported.

Explosions were heard in the skies above Doha after the interception of aerial targets, according to local media.

Since Israel and the US launched joint attacks against Iran on Feb. 28, killing so far around 1,300 people, including then Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, hostilities have escalated.

Tehran retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Iraq and Gulf countries that are home to US military assets.
