MADINAH, March 10 (Bernama) -- Worshippers flocked to the Prophet’s Mosque on Monday to perform Qiyam prayers on the first night of the last ten days of the holy month of Ramadan, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

The atmosphere is marked by spirituality, tranquillity, and safety, as thousands gathered in the mosque’s corridors, courtyards, and the roads leading to it to perform the Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers.

The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque prepared all sites and facilities of the Prophet’s Mosque in coordination with relevant departments and authorities to provide an integrated system of services for worshippers and visitors, enabling them to perform their acts of worship with ease and comfort.

Preparations included opening the mosque’s gates and preparing its interior areas, roof, and courtyards to receive worshippers, in addition to maintenance, cleaning, operational services, and water distribution.

The authority also increased the workforce and equipment to ensure the smooth implementation of various tasks while deploying staff to organise crowds, open passageways, and facilitate the movement of worshippers inside the Prophet’s Mosque and its courtyards.
